The trading account behind the link

A chart figure is not an order

This site links to FxPro, an international broker. The account is with FxPro; this site is not the broker and takes no money from the reader. FxPro quotes gold, currency pairs and share indices as contracts for difference - nothing is delivered, weighed, stored or exchanged at a counter.

A drawn figure on a chart, beside an order that needs a size and a stop

A chart figure drawn on this site shows what price has done. It is not an order. An order is placed on the trading platform, and the platform's order ticket carries its own fields for a stop loss and a take profit. The reader must choose a size and set those risk controls before the order is sent.

The same chart can be opened in several places: FxPro offers the MT4, MT5 and cTrader platforms, the FxPro Edge web platform and a mobile app. The pattern on the chart is the same, but the order ticket is separate. The reader should understand that the figure does not place the order, and the platform's fields are the place where risk is controlled.

What a contract on gold, a currency pair or an index is and is not

A contract for difference is a cash-settled agreement. Nothing is delivered, weighed, stored or exchanged at a counter. When the reader opens a trade on gold, a currency pair or the Nifty 50, they are not buying the underlying asset; they are entering a contract whose value moves with the price of that asset.

The contract is for differences: the reader pays or receives the difference between the opening and closing price, multiplied by the size of the position. There is no physical delivery, and the reader does not own the gold, the currency or a share of the index. The contract is a financial instrument, and its risks are tied to the price movements of the underlying.

What to read in the terms before an account is opened from India

Opening an account requires identification and takes a day or two. The reader should read the terms carefully: the fees, the spreads, the overnight swap, and the leverage. The broker's own pages state the fees for each account type, and the reader should compare them before funding.

A practice account exists and costs nothing. It is the place to see the screens, understand the order ticket and test a trading idea with no money at risk. The reader should use the practice account before opening a live account, and should read the terms in full, including the risk disclosure, before depositing.
